Whole lotta love: Triple J -newsletter-Australian youth radio:)

triple j logoNew Australian music

Swimming in a sea of superb sounds
I can’t see my desk through all the beautiful album covers; 2010 has spoiled me rotten with so much amazing Aussie music.
Like the newie from Eddy Current Suppression Ring which is so raw and honest. I’ve also been digging the M-Phazes record, especially Drapht’s contribution ‘Where’s Elivs?’. It cracks me up every time. And I can’t wait to get my hands on ParadesFire! Santa Rosa, Fire!DanimalsGyroscope and John Butler Trio.
Looking at the amount of great Australian albums coming out this year fills me with a feeling that’s equal parts joy and terror. It’s exciting to see so many incredible records set for release, but I’m scared that I’ll be buried beneath them and no one will find me for days. Oh well. It’s a dirty job but someone’s gotta do it!

Kind of Blue: Inspiration from a guest blogger is a good thing...

Hi all:)
Hope you love Jonas´s post as much as i do:)

After seeing this post...and how he wrote i am going to change this blogg a bit....
I will try and do more album reviews...

And i will start with Led Zeppelin 2 -

So stay tuned....
Have a nice day...

The Flaming Lips (and friends) do Dark Side of the Moon.

I can't even begin to think of words to describe this album ... you would have to be crazy to cover an entire album and then release it, right? Crazier than ever to cover an album that can be legitimately worshipped by anyone of any age or shape. Well, that's the Flaming Lips I guess, but then crazy is the lamest description I can come up with right now. If you love Dark Side of the Moon then there is a good chance you will hate this, but then again, if you love the Lips and love Dark Side of the Moon you're going to love this. You may even, secretly, wonder if its the best thing they have done in the last nine years.

One last thing ... it's a headphones album. So go on ... dig them headphones out, people.
